Same tour, two very different days. Here's how to choose.

Shared tours

You join other guests on a set schedule. You pay per person. Some shared tours need a minimum number of guests to run.

Private tours

Your group gets the boat or the guide to itself. Prices are often per boat or per group, or a higher per-person rate. You can usually shape the timing.

Which fits you?

Every tour on this site says whether it's private or shared, taken from the operator's own page.

Examples

Surf lessons often come in both sizes. Surf Lessons at Playa Guiones offers private, semi-private or small-group lessons. Surf Lessons at The Gilded Iguana, Nosara offers private, duo or group lessons.
