Happy kids make a happy tour. A few checks up front go a long way.

Check the limits

Minimum age: many tours set one. For example, tubing at Hacienda Guachipelín needs riders aged 8 or older and at least 140 cm tall, per the hacienda.
Child prices: operators define child ages differently. Read the bands on each tour page.
Life jackets: ask about small sizes for boat and kayak trips.

Keep it short and shady

Half-day trips with a swim stop suit young kids. Bring water, snacks and sun protection.
